The series is an adaptation of James Patterson’s novels about the complex and brilliant detective Alex Cross
Hodge is the third actor to play Cross, following in the footsteps of Morgan Freeman, who first played him on screen in 1997’s Kiss the Girls and then again in the 2001 film sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the title character in 2012’s Alex Cross, which bombed at the box office and prompted Lionsgate to scrap the previously planned sequel, Double Cross. I’ve just finished watching all eight episodes of Cross, and I have to say I absolutely loved it.

I’ve been looking forward to it since I first heard about it, so I had pretty high expectations. Well, this show not only lived up to those expectations, it exceeded them in every way.
That movie was garbage, this series is fantastic
There was an Alex Cross movie that came out in 2012 with Tyler Perry that was just awful. Please don’t let this put you off watching this because they are different in every way.
Amazon is so confident in this show that they renewed it for another season before the first episode aired
Another great adaptation for Amazon Prime, they have done an amazing job with their adaptations of TV series (Reacher, Fallout, Lord of the Rings, Jack Ryan, The Boys, Bosch, The Wheel of Time, Daisy Jones and the Six, Good Omens, etc. etc.).
