finds Aldis Hodge a great Alex Cross
Chronology
A series adaptation of James Patterson’s novels about the complicated and brilliant detective Alex Cross. In part 2, Cross tells Sampson that he smells like “mothballs and ancient spices”. In real life, Isaiah Mustafa was featured in the big Old Spice adverts as “the man whose man could smell”. I haven’t seen the whole series yet so I can only comment on the first 3 episodes, but I’m definitely drawn to it.
Please ignore this & just watch an episode or 2 & decide for yourself
It’s a gripping and gritty story that becomes clearer in the early episodes, with the mysterious building. Unfortunately, some reviews here are clearly negative because they have their own opinion on the species. Hopefully after watching episode 1 you’ll see that the boy being interrogated at the beginning probably shares the same views as some people here. Don’t listen to the obvious bigots, these problems are very widespread and not always present.
Sorry if this makes anyone uncomfortable
unfortunately it’s common these days, why not shed some light on this. 2 things bothered me; First I agree with some of the comments about the lighting, it is very dark and very dark; I strained my eyes a bit, but it wasn’t terrible. Secondly, this might seem petty, but the captain had very stereotypical and outdated views, despite his excellent police history, he was always annoyed by Cross, rude, etc. It just seemed like a little cliche..
Minor issue, but I found it a little distracting!!
And I was also very distracted by her hair lol lol there was no way a high ranking woman would wear her hair down like that, it looked weird especially when she was wearing the police cap, it didn’t look right! I’ve read most of James Patterson’s books and this is definitely different from them, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Be careful if you don’t want spoilers to miss the last part of episode 1 since "this season is Crosson…" preview I didn’t watch because I don’t want spoilers & I felt like this wasn’t necessary. Give it a try, watch a few episodes & think you want to watch the whole series.
