The crazy cartoon cast of Animate: The New Normal (2020) is mentioned
A prequel to the original Dune, it tells the story of how the sisterhood of Roszak evolved into the Bene Gesserit. The episode, with the use of the voice of Valya Harkonnen, comes from a story called ‘Mentets of Dune’. All three books are about the development of the Brotherhood, Mentees, Navigators, and Suc Doctors..
It’s a fantastic spin-off from a beloved film franchise
This spin-off is more like Game of Thrones than Dune. That said, Dune: Prophecy is everything I expected it to be and more. I have to admit that I’ve never read the source material or seen the original film.
I love them both, so I had high hopes for this series
My experience with Dune is based on the two Dune films starring Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya. Those two films (especially Dune: Part Two) are two of my favorite films I’ve seen in the last few years. Dune: Prophecy is a series set 10,000 years before the Dune movies and about the Harkonnen sisters battling forces that threaten the future of humanity.
it’s a lot of fun
This series may feel more like Game of Thrones than Dune, but somehow… The most important thing about this show is that it does exactly what it set out to do, which is deepen our understanding of the Bene Gesserit. You don’t have to have seen the two Dune movies to enjoy this, but you’ll definitely enjoy it more if you have.
