The original Dune prequel tells the story of how the Brotherhood of Rossak evolved into the Bene Gesserit. The incident with Valya Harkonnen using voiceover is taken from an incident called “Mentats from Dune.” The three books intertwine the evolution of the Brotherhood, the Mentats, the Navigators, and the Druids. I knew it couldn’t be as good as the movies, but I didn’t expect it to be so…
No depth, the dialogue is sometimes quite cheesy
mediocre. For a moment I thought it was an Amazon production and not HBO. The casting of certain roles is not right; not because the actors are bad, but because they are not right for the role.
No special effects, it gives the impression of being low budget
There is too much going on in the first episode and it jumps from one scene to the next as if they were in a hurry. Also, in the case of some scenes I wonder why they bothered to do them. I don’t know what kind of camera they used, but the shots look too simple.
