Karla Sofía Gascón talks about the two years of preparation it took for this demanding role in Jacques Audiard’s film, and about the two extremes of her own personality she had to play as Emilia and Manitas. Jacques Audiard has said that he drew inspiration for the idea for the musical from a chapter in a novel about a drug dealer who yearns to change his identity.

Interesting concept that the writers have used smartly
Dalmais), Clément Ducol and Jacques AudiardPlayed by Zoe Saldana. It is a musical so be prepared to see a few songs here and there during the dialogues. It is a unique story that keeps you guessing and you can’t help but think about what happens next.
The acting and casting are on point
The flow of the film is delicately handled initially but then it acquires a slower pace which I believe is there to ground the character development and create an emotional appeal. I won’t comment on the ending as it would betray the anticipation that has been so carefully built. It is definitely not a conventional film.
The cinematography and direction are also commendable
I would say you would be shocked at times but at some point you just become immune to it especially to the quirky characters and bold storyline.
