Katie, a freelance video editor in desperate need of work, receives a high-paying offer from an anonymous employer to edit a cryptic and bizarre video. Short on cash and facing eviction, Katie eagerly accepts the assignment. The video shows people being tortured and even killed on camera, and it’s surely an elaborate set-up. But when her first job leads to even more lucrative gigs and more disturbingly realistic snuff films, Katie’s life begins to unravel. Strange figures in her apartment, terrifying nightmares that keep her awake at night, and a mysterious illness afflicting her cat. It’s only when Katie decides to quit her job for good that she discovers just how cruel her anonymous employer is—and the lengths to which she herself will go to get out of her contract.
