Chronology
The mismatched cousins set off on a journey across Poland once again to honor their beloved grandmother. The adventure takes a turn when old tensions between the odd couple are revived by the backdrop of their family history. When Benji and David visit their grandmother’s house in Poland, the action takes place in Jesse Eisenberg; his real ancestors have settled in the diaspora. 25, No. Screenplay: Fryderyk Chopin Performed by: Tzvi Erez. I saw this film last week at the AFI Film Festival in Hollywood. By the time I got to this film, I was suffering from a bit of film overload and when I was talking to someone in the audience before the film started, I almost forgot what I was going to see! But I was so happy when I saw it! As you know from the synopsis, Jesse Eisenberg wrote, directed and starred in this wonderful film about two cousins who travel to Poland to see the land of their beloved grandmother.
So I highly recommend checking this out as soon as you can
Eisenberg plays the role he seems born to play perfectly – an uptight, nervous and family-oriented man who always wants to do the right thing. Eisenberg is joined by Kieran Culkin, who plays the opposite of him – outspoken, outgoing and eager to break the rules, much to Eisenberg’s chagrin. Culkin’s character easily makes friends with the other travelers and guides – much to Eisenberg’s surprise (and sometimes irritation). The story itself is very engaging and you’ll want to join them on their journey. Culkin is up for an Oscar, and Eisenberg could be nominated for screenplay and/or directing.
