Adapted from the book Stinger (1988) by Robert McCammon
Chronology
Trapped on a farm in rural Georgia, a group of neighbors must put their differences aside and come together in the face of a mysterious and deadly threat. If you’re looking for a fast-paced, high-octane, and intense thriller, this isn’t it
This show is character-driven, a “when the hell am I going to figure out what’s going on?” kind of experience. The characters are all well-acted, relatable, and flawed, but I wish there was a token oddball – an anti-hero of sorts.
The premise is very intriguing, and new aspects are introduced fairly regularly
Outside of some key moments, the energy is pretty low (but in a way that favors realism) with an inordinate amount of highly creative gore thrown in for satisfying shock value. If this is going to be a limited series with all the answers provided this season, I expect it to have a hell of a penultimate episode followed by a decisive finale.

If it continues into future seasons, I can’t wait to get lost and theorize for a while. The final season of What We Do in the Shadows is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
