Chronology
Following the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, attempts to take over Gotham’s underworld, and aside from the Bat-signal in the final shot of the season finale, we don’t have one in The Penguin. In this short video, IMDb attempts to answer the question: Where the hell was Batman? Colin Farrell struggled to get his version of the Penguin in Batman (2022) to smoke tobacco, but he couldn’t. However, in his own series, the character is portrayed as a regular tobacco user with a penchant for cigars.

The DC Studios logo is seen on a rainy Gotham alley. An umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros. logo. Seen in “Graham Norton and Guests: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti” (2024).
The show is dark and graphic
He’s impressive. Nothing about the character even remotely resembles Farrell. The New York accent, the sway and limp, the pose: you could swear it was someone else. The amazing prosthetics are very realistic and accentuate the figure.
Well-written and tight
There’s nothing cartoonish about it. It’s a great companion piece to Christopher Nolan’s Batman. I’d even say it beats Marvel’s line by a mile. I hope there’s a second season, but I know it’s limited.
